Diocesan Education Program

Discipulos de Cristo

Discipulos de Cristo is the diocesan lay ministry formation program for Spanish speaking people. It is a three-year program which prepares individuals for active and knowledgeable leadership in their parishes. It began in 2006. Many of our parishioners are participants in this program. Nine of the 17 participants in the first graduating class (2009) were from our parish. A large percentage of each year's class are St. Willebrord parishioners, who are already active in the parish or becoming involved.

This program consists of three six-week courses per year. (Each course is conducted on Sundays from 2:00 to 6:00pm). The courses cover Spirituality, Old & New Testament, Ecclesiology, Sacraments, Morality, Liturgy & Prayer, and Pastoral Ministry (parts 1 & 2)

Registration for new students takes place each summer.

Although this is a diocesan program, St Willebrord strongly encourages our Spanish speaking parishioners to partake in these classes, learn more about our faith, and then utilize their skills in a parish setting.
