Volunteering is an expression of love
Every faith community needs many volunteers in order to complete the ministries and tasks required. St. Willebrord has always been blessed with many enthusiastic and capable volunteers. I hope that everyone recognizes that our parish only has a few employees and hundreds of volunteers.
On behalf of the parish community I wish to thank all of you who have offered your time and talent for the sake of others. As an act of unselfish giving, volunteering is an expression of the kind of love Jesus desires from us – agape: love that looks to the needs of the other even before one seeks to meet his/her own needs.
One volunteer who has been with us since January is Matt Ferch. He is a member of the Norbertine Volunteer Community (NVC). Matt has worked at least 40 hours a week in the parish office doing anything we ask of him. He has also taught Faith Formation and he even helped to move furniture. In the Fall Matt will go to the seminary in Milwaukee to prepare for ordination. He is here until the end of June. Thank you Matt, and God bless you!
Peace, Fr. Andy
