Preparation for a Quinceañera

The celebration of a quinceañera is a religious event that carries great significance and tradition in the lives of Spanish-speaking people. It marks the moment when a young lady makes a commitment to fulfill her baptismal promises and dedicate herself to following Jesus in her future, in her work, and in the Parish.

Before making any decisions, families must keep the following requirements in mind:

  • They must schedule an appointment with Fr. Andy to set aside the date and plan the Mass. This appointment must be made at least six months before the celebration.
  • If they only wish to have a blessing, they must schedule the appointment at least one month in advance.
  • Appointments should be made as early as possible, as Masses are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The young lady wishing to celebrate her 15th birthday must be baptized and have received her First Communion.
  • The family must be registered at St. Willebrord.

It is required that the quinceañera herself be present at every step of the preparation process, including when making the appointment with Fr. Andy.
